Even when the Parisians are gone on vacation in August, as you will notice , walking in the streets, that a lot of shops or restaurants are closed and that there are parking spaces available for the cars, night life in Paris remains very exciting. You will be able to enjoy a good meal in a typical restaurant, have a drink at the terrace of a “café”, go to a concert or watch a theater play, take a night cruise along the Seine river. However, there is one show I would recommend to all of those who are interested in the history of the City of Light and which is only available during the Summer, in July and August.
It takes place at the “Invalides” and is called “La Nuit aux Invalides”. This is one of the most prestigious monuments of Paris, with a museum dedicated to military art and a church with a golden Dome which houses the grave of the emperor Napoleon the first.
The show starts at 10:00 p.m in August and the tickets can be purchased on line or at the ticket office, on location. The rental of synchro-headsets, will allow you to understand and be immersed in 2000 years of the history of the City of Light told by some of french famous actors. The illuminations make the story even more magic.
After the show, you may choose to take a night walk, lit by 1000 candles, in the church of the Dome. It’s a vey spiritual experience.
